The Lake
The Lake held a special place for my family to gather to celebrate life’s big moments - 4th of July picnics, summer vacations, birthdays, reunions & weddings; and to appreciate life’s small pleasures - nature, food, relaxation and togetherness.
Purchased in 1945 by my great grandfather in Cedar Grove, WI, the lake house was enjoyed by my family for generations over nearly 75 years.
As the final days there were upon us, I was drawn to capture the features that had always been the same, and the signs that we would soon be moving on. These images hold a nostalgic melancholy for me now when reflecting back on my past memories in this place.
